About Rosalind L. Heiko:
Dr. Heiko is a graduate of Cornell and Syracuse Universities. She has practiced psychology for almost 35 years with children, families and adults. She is Director of Pediatric & Family Psychology, P.A. in Cary, NC since 1984. She consults and trains therapists nationally and internationally about play and sand therapies. Dr. Roz taught in the School Psychology Departments as a Visiting professor at UNC-Chapel Hill, and as an Adjunct Professor at UConn at Storrs and NC State University.
Dr. Heiko was a Child and Family Supervisor for the Family Services Center in Raleigh. She is published in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy and in Eliana Gil's edited book: Working with Children to Heal Interpersonal Trauma (Guilford Press, 2010). Her new chapter on managing clinical burn-out, will be published in 2015 by Rowman and Littlefield in Eric Green's edited book, Intergrative Family Play Therapy: A New Paradigm. Dr. Heiko has served on the Board Member of the following organizations: the NC Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the Board of the NC Psychology Association and on the Executive Committee as a Board Secretary for the Interact of Wake County. Dr. Heiko is founder of NC Sandplay Training.
