My First Therapy Game is designed to facilitate discussion between therapist and client. The format is flexible, allowing the therapist to use their clinical judgment to determine how material will be elicited and processed.

My First Therapy Game covers the major tasks of therapy in a way that is easily understood and enjoyed by children. Five sets of cards and five detours introduce children to Talking, identifying and expressing Feelings, Relationship issues, Cooperating and Sharing, and Problem Solving. The border is made of feeling words, which children can refer to when playing the game.

Children enjoy My First Therapy Game and will often select it over more familiar board games. . This game is suitable for children six-years-old to early adolescence. My First Therapy Game is appropriate for two or more players. It can be enjoyed by a small group and is suitable for group therapy. The therapist determines how long the game will last. Players move around the board and answer questions, earning chips for each response. Given a choice, many children choose My
